TARGWORX
The madness that drives the mayhem
About
How to describe a life that has had its share of woe as anyother. This site was built by me, James M. DeJan for my hobby which allows me some gratification as well as good fellowship with mostly younger folk with young families. Much like I was at their age.
I've been married twice. The first lasted 21 years and I stayed until my youngest child had reached his 18th birthday. During this time I was estranged from my wife while living under the same roof. This was not healthy as I turned to food instead of drink or drugs to ease my pain and in doing so nearly cost me my life. At the age of 40, I spent that birthday in the ICU of Humana hospital after reaching the staggaring weight of 474lbs. This was due mostly to sleep apnia. If anyone tells you that snoring is funny, slap them up side of their head and incist they see a doctor who specializes in sleep disorders. I got to the point where my cells could no longer pass off water. While in the ICU, my then wife nor my children visited me. Such was that life.
I'm sure my ex would say I cheated on her but I never slept with another woman while I was with her.
I met Emily Yara during my estrangement while at a costuming convention. We stayed in touch, talked, got to know each other and realizing that life was pretty much miserable without someone to share it with. So when my divorce was final on October 6, 2001, Emily and I were wed in the front room of our home on December 11th, 2001. When something is too good to lose you act.
Perhaps due to this my children, Katherine and Charles haven't spoken to me since. Emily and I have been happily married for the past ten years. We sold her 7,000 sq. ft. duplex in Plainfield, IL. and bought a 1,600 sq. ft. ranch in the small town of Forrest, Il.
Since we are both disabled and living on social security disability we eek out our meager living here with our four dogs and four cats. Em doesn't costume much anylonger but supports my mania.
